Tennis is one of the most played and followed sports on the planet. There are four main tournaments awarded annually: Australian Open, French Open or Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open or Flushing Meadows. These royal competitions go on to compose the Grand Slam.
Roland Garros is about to start and it is the only one of the four tournaments that is played on clay after cement courts took favour in the U.S. Open since 1978. Not all tennis players are comfortable on this type of court, a playing surface characterized by higher and therefore slower rebounds than grass, concrete and synthetic courts. It is no coincidence that Roland Garros is often decided at the end of very long sets. This is one of the factors that make the French Open one of the most legendary tennis tournaments.

The first edition of Roland Garros took place in 1891 and has been held annually ever since. Since 1925, after an initial phase in which it was reserved exclusively for French tennis players or members of a transalpine tennis club, the event has been open to players from all over the world.

Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal was the real star on the clay court of the Stade Roland Garros. One of the most famous shots of the Iberian champion is undoubtedly his left-handed straight - the claw - which represents one of the wonders of the ATP circuit in terms of aesthetics and power. Tennis, an effective sport

Playing tennis increases the muscular tone of the whole body and increases coordination and concentration. A sporting activity that really allows you to empty your mind, because of the psychological effort required - especially at a professional level - does not allow you to have any other kind of thought in your head. Moreover, it is a perfect sport to keep your line. It has been calculated that playing in singles - if you weigh 57 kg - you can burn about 460 kcal in an hour of play, weighing 80 kg, you burn about 640.
