A design-led wellness space at Nobu Hotel Shoreditch with ARTIS

Located in London’s fashionable Shoreditch area, Nobu Hotel Shoreditch is a celebration of the capital’s status as a world culinary capital and extension of renowned hotel and restaurant portfolio headed by Japanese celebrity chef, Nobu Matsuhisa and actor and director, Robert De Niro. The striking exterior façade combines grey concrete, polished glass and cantilevered steel beams, which stands out against Shoreditch’s traditional red brick buildings. Once you step inside, industrial shapes meet rich, natural materials and textures, dark wood and soft lighting to create an air of sleek sophistication.

Nobu Spa has balance and mindfulness at its heart. The range of relaxation, fitness and wellness services are designed to rejuvenate and reenergise the senses away from the bustle of London life. The gym is equipped with a state of the art spa and fitness centre, supplied with Technogym’s top-of-the-line ARTIS cardio equipment to match its luxurious facilities and design.

ARTIS design and innovation at Nobu Hotel Shoreditch

ARTIS is the first fully integrated collection of over 30 pieces of cardio, strength and functional equipment. The cardio equipment at Nobu Hotel Shoreditch, which includes ARTIS Run, Recline, Bike and Synchro, features low, sweeping lines and frameless geometry to create elegant forms, and was the ideal choice for the design-led space.

Sarah Borges de Sousa, Director of Sales & Marketing at Nobu Hotel Shoreditch said: "At Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch we have carefully selected all our offerings to ensure that they provide our guests the very best experience. We think it’s important for our products to reflect our ethos as a brand and we feel that Technogym also captivates wellness at its core. ARTIS is not only functional, but is beautifully designed and looks great in our studio."

ARTIS Run combines the very best running ergonomics with an innovative digital interface to ensure a personalised training experience. The cushioned surface of the treadmill belt adapts automatically and dynamically to the user’s running style, while the touchscreen UNITY 3.0 console offers countless entertainment options such as Netflix and YouTube in the most vivid definition and vibrant colours. Guests can also access a range of personalised training programmes, such as Speed Shift to create their own interval training session, and engaging workouts to keep them motivated. Gamification is another growing trend in the fitness industry and UNITY 3.0 features three race modes to cater to this: guests in the same facility can challenge one another to a race of their preferred distance and location, or experience some of the world’s most iconic marathon routes.
Integration with Technogym’s mywellness cloud-based open platform means that when a guest logs into their mywellness account on the equipment, they are automatically presented with their preferred selection of entertainment, websites and apps, plus their personal training programme. This connectivity allows guests to continue a programme prescribed to them by their trainer at their home or local gym.

The Fitness Manager at Nobu Hotel Shoreditch said: “I have always worked with Technogym as I have found nothing else quite compares in terms of quality and comfort. The equipment is so versatile and can challenge experienced athletes whilst also welcoming complete beginners. As a personal trainer I find that you need to ensure the exercises remain fun and varied.”
