A career always at the top
Since his youth Hirscher has attracted attention with his excellent performances: coached by his father Ferdinando, after triumphing in his youth he began a rapid rise. Junior World Champion 2007 and 2008, overall winner of the European Cup 2007/08, debut in the World Cup on 17 March 2007. This will be followed by 67 World Cup victories in the next 12 years - the first on 13 December 2009 and the last on 29 January 2019. Eight consecutive World Cup victories, seven world titles, two Olympic gold medals and many other triumphs have made Hirscher immortal.
Other titles include 13 World Cup victories in a season, 14 victories in a calendar year, Gold Medal at four consecutive World Championships, on average 81 points per race in a season, 20 World Cup Crystal Balls. The skier from Salzburg triumphed in nine World Cup locations: Adelboden, Alta Badia, Val d'Isere, Kranjska Gora, Zagreb, Schladming, Levi, Bansko, Moscow. It's a decision made for many reasons. I am aware that it is not just a change of profession, it is a part of life that ends.
