Technogym will once again be the official supplier of training equipment and expertise at this year's World Cup in Brazil. After Italy 1990, the United States 1994, France 1998, Japan and Korea 2002, Germany 2006 and South Africa 2010, Technogym continues to work alongside a number of the world's top national soccer teams. In order to effectively assist the World Cup soccer stars in their training, Technogym, a leading worldwide supplier of physical fitness and rehabilitation equipment, services and solutions, will be offering the players all of its expertise, training centers and years of experience in world-class competitive sports.
Athletic conditioning is an essential requirement that can make a real difference in short-term, high-intensity events like the FIFA World Cup. An initial muscular strength, cardiovascular and rehabilitation training center has been set up at the Italian Soccer Federation's technical center in Coverciano, where the Azzurri team will be training before leaving Italy for Brazil. The Coverciano technical center's partnership with Technogym also includes the training methods laboratory, which has been equipped with the most advanced machinery and biomedical devices in order to test the athletes' conditioning and physiological parameters using special tests and examinations.
Another similar center will be set up at the Italian team's headquarters at the Portobello Safari Resort, in Mangaritiba (Rio de Janeiro), where the Azzurri will fine-tune and maintain their physical conditioning during the World Cup - to be held in Brazil from June 12th through July 13th this summer. Here, the Italian team will have the opportunity to make use of the most innovative equipment and solutions available for cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and rehabilitation training. Using this equipment, Buffon and his teammates will hone their skills in preparation for the extremely difficult match-ups on the team's World Cup schedule.
A technical center will be set up at the Brazilian soccer team's national headquarters in Granja Comary Teresopolis, complete with high-tech equipment and solutions designed to perfect their athletic training. The Brazilian equivalent of the Italian training center in Coverciano covers an area of approximately 150 thousand square meters.
Finally, Technogym has also equipped two training centers for the Russian national team: one is based at the team's headquarters at the Swiss Hotel in Moscow, and the other at the San Raphael Country Hotel in Itu, Sao Paulo, the facility chosen for the players and staff in Brazil.
