Prof. Marco Narici, Ph.D, is a full Professor of the Physiology of Aging at the Manchester Metropolitan University. He received a BSc in Physiology at the Bedford College, University of London in 1982, an MSc in Human and Applied Physiology at the King’s College, University of London in 1983, and a PhD in Physiology at the University of Pavia.
Among his numerous prestigious recognitions, he is an Elected Member of the Executive Board for the European College of Sport Science, and an Associate Scientist at the Italian Research Council's Institute of Bio-imaging and Molecular Physiology (IBFM).
His research interests include: muscle and tendon plasticity in aging, disuse, and training, with particular focus upon the structural and functional repercussions, as well as the use of ultrasound and MRI imaging techniques for the study of muscle structure and tendon mechanical properties in vivo. He has also authored 102 ISI cited publications and 11 book chapters.
