Technogym and NASM/AFAA: partnership and educational workshops

Technogym, the leading producer of design, education, technology-driven wellness and fitness equipment and solutions, and the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) & Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA), the world-renowned provider of high-quality and scientifically rigorous Certified Personal Training Programs and group exercise certifications, are pleased to announce their partnership, which will increase the variety of educational workshops available to personal trainers and instructors through NASM/AFAA.

Per NASM regulations, all certified trainers are required to undertake a recertification process, in which they must complete two Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every two years in order to ensure professional development and application of the most up-to-date fitness and health practices. Technogym has developed in-depth product and wellness workshops approved by NASM for CEUs such as Kinesis One, SKILLMILL Introduction and SKILLROW Foundation. The focus has been on creating high quality, smart technology infused, educational workshops that enhance personal trainers’ ability to enhance their client’s experience. Technogym's plans on expanding it’s current educational workshop offerings with the guidance of NASM.

"NASM is very excited to partner with Technogym. Together we are committed to our leadership roles in the fitness industry, where we share a common philosophy of bringing innovative products and ideas to the marketplace. Ultimately, it’s our customers who benefit the most from our combined efforts to advance exercise and wellness into new and exciting directions. The open communication, collaborative spirit and loyal support we’ve received from Technogym is greatly appreciated and we look forward to a bright future together." - Laurie McCartney, President of Global Fitness and Wellness for Ascend Learning.

"We are proud to partner with organizations that encourage continuing education in the fitness industry” said Nerio Alessandri, Founder and CEO of Technogym. “By expanding these continuing educational requirements to include our industry leading research and innovative products, we are furthering our goal to improve people's quality of life though regular and safe physical exercise."

This partnership reinforces NASM’s ability to ensure that personal trainers maintain competence, develop knowledge and skills, and enhance professionalism and judgment beyond the levels required for entry-level practices.
