Technogym will be site of prestigious 2018 Global Wellness Summit

The Global Wellness Summit (GWS), the foremost gathering of international leaders in the $3.7 trillion global wellness economy, today announced that preparations are underway for its 12th annual Summit, which will be held for the first time in Italy. The global forum will take place from October 6-8 and will be hosted by Technogym Village, a world-leading company specializing in technologies for fitness, wellness and health located in Romagna’s Wellness Valley. Delegates to the Summit will be immersed in future trends and emerging business opportunities within wellness markets, while being exposed to the uniquely Italian aspects of wellness, including food, art, design and fashion.

The GWS is expected to attract well over 600 high-level delegates from more than 45 countries. Keynotes, panels and roundtables will explore the ten sectors of the wellness economy:

1. beauty
2. spa
3. thermal/mineral springs
4. wellness tourism
5. healthy eating

6. fitness/mind-body
7. preventive/personalized medicine
8. complementary/alternative medicine
9. workplace wellness
10. wellness lifestyle real estate.

“Italians have an inherently healthy, wellness-focused lifestyle, including some of the lowest obesity rates in Europe. Bringing the Global Wellness Summit to Italy gives us the opportunity to celebrate its growing impact on the rapidly expanding wellness economy,” said GWS chairman and CEO Susie Ellis. “Wellness is rewriting industries like beauty and real estate and is transforming retail, fashion, design and architecture. Italy is the perfect setting to explore these exciting new aspects of wellness.”
