Technogym gathers global opinion leaders to discuss the future of Wellness

The Global Wellness Summit (GWS), the foremost gathering of international leaders in the $3.7 trillion global wellness economy, will be held for the first time in Italy. The global forum, October 6-8, will be hosted by Technogym, the world-leading company specializing in technologies for fitness, wellness and health and will take place at the Technogym Village in Cesena, right in the heart of Romagna’s Wellness Valley

Delegates to the Summit will be immersed in future trends and emerging business opportunities within global wellness markets, while being exposed to the uniquely Italian aspects of wellness, including food, art, design and fashion.

All the themes of the Global Wellness Summit 2018

The GWS is expected to attract well over 650 high-level delegates from more than 45 countries. Keynotes, panels and roundtables will explore the ten sectors of the wellness economy: fitness, health, sport, beauty, spa, thermal/mineral springs, wellness tourism, healthy eating, preventive/personalized medicine, workplace wellness and wellness lifestyle real estate.

The Global Wellness Institute, a nonprofit organization, will also release a highly anticipated, in-depth update of the Global Wellness Economy Monitor, which will include all-new data and trends for the ten wellness markets in the world. Currently, Italy is the 7th largest spa market in the world, with over 3,000 spas generating annual revenues of roughly $2.5 billion – and the 9th-largest wellness tourism market globally, with 6.6 million wellness trips taken each year, generating $12.7 billion in revenues.

Saturday, at the opening of the Global Wellness Summit it will also be released the Global Wellness Economy Monitor, a research revealing all-new data and trends in the fast-growing global wellness economy (+9,8% in the last two years). Currently, Italy is the 7th largest wellness market in the world, with over 3,000 spas generating annual revenues of roughly $2.5 billion – and the 9th-largest wellness tourism market globally, with 6.6 million wellness trips taken each year, generating $12.7 billion in revenues.
