Luxury Nobu Hotels Partner With Technogym At Newest London Top Location

General Manager Grant Campbell explains how Technogym helped Nobu Hotel London Portman Square create a world-class wellness experience at their new hotel in the heart of Marylebone in London. Nobu is famous for its modern take on Japanese minimalist design, supported by world-class service. The wellness area at Nobu Hotel London Portman Square is no exception, developing a beautifully spacious gym and an innovative fitness experience was a key focus. Partnering with Technogym to design and fit-out the gym, which stands alongside Nobu Pilates and treatment rooms to offer hotel guests and local residents a lifestyle wellness destination.

Nobu customers come to us for luxury experiences,” explains General Manager Grant Campbell. “We needed to create an outstanding offer on a totally different level to anything you’d find at a traditional spa or gym. Technogym helped us create a wellness offer that fits Nobu’s brand values.” London Portman Square wellness facilities include a fully-equipped gym space, a Pilates studio, and physical therapy. The Technogym gym space functions as a standalone gym and can be used by the hotel’s physiotherapists to add value to their treatments beyond the consulting room.

At Nobu Hotel London Portman Square, the vision was to create a high-end gym space that offers as much value to the local community as it does to hotel guests. “We position ourselves as part of the neighborhood,” says Grant, “so it was important that we create a gym that served the local community as well as our hotel guests. The immediate area of Marylebone has a very friendly, village-like feeling. We worked with Technogym to design a gym offer that gives local residents a welcoming place to work out.

Gym equipment for the fitness-focused traveler

It was important for the new location to offer a best-in-class experience to hotel visitors when it came to its gym. Technogym’s innovation, equipment, and design support helped bring Nobu’s vision to life at London Portman Square. A lot of guests – especially frequent travellers - will make a purchasing decision based on gym facilities, layout, and equipment. Grant and his team worked with Technogym to create a gym space worthy of being a standalone gym, that would function as an amenity for repeat business.

The premium designed gym is open 24/7 to hotel guests, which meant the facility had to ensure they offered an environment with plenty of floor space for training and exercises. With a flow of natural lighting from the large windows and the warmth from the ceiling light designs gives a welcoming and safe ambience. It was also important the gym was accessible 24 hours a day to offer a user-friendly and exceptional levels of functionality to its international clientele.

The gym floor features the prestigious Artis Line including the Recline, Run and Synchro. Completely updated to the latest technological standards, Artis offers the utmost cardio and strength training experience. Its seamless design stands out from the crowd. The new Live console empowers the most exciting training experiences. And the feeling it delivers is unique in its kind.

As well as the state-of-the-art Artis solutions, the gym also features the all-inclusive Technogym Bike, an innovative training experience that comes with the Technogym Trainers’ on-demand classes, Technogym Outdoors, and Total Body Workouts. This selection of state-of-the-art solutions alongside the weight machines and Skilltools gives beginners and advanced users a guided fitness training experience, making it personalised, fun, engaging and motivational.

Over the past decade, as a seasoned hotelier Grant has seen the hotel industry change in response to consumer demand. Where hotels previously used food and beverage to attract guests, the brand now also sees fitness and wellness as a core offer. “Our members and hotel guests love the relaxed, personal feel of our gym space,” says Grant,” and we are attracting serious gym-goers from the local area which tells me that we’ve got it right!
