Orthopedic disorders

Orthopedic pathologies

All types of injuries are seen as true disabilities. Athletes and regular patients both demand more than the simple relief of symptoms: the real goal is to return to being active.  Discover the solutions we have developed for a complete and speedy recovery.

Orthopedic pathologies

Help your patients obtain a speedier recovery following a shoulder, knee or back injury or operation. Physical exercise is essential for restoring full efficiency and movement, and is the best way to ensure a complete recovery.

Post-operative and post-traumatic training, or training geared towards maintaining efficiency in the case of orthopedic diseases, combines cardiovascular exercise, movements for improving flexibility, and muscle strengthening exercises.

Our recommended solutions

We recommend a functional rehabilitation program that involves working on the kinetic chain, “core stability” and neuromuscular efficiency.

Cardiovascular training

The cardiovascular system carries oxygen to the body's tissues and improves its efficiency, thus expediting the patient’s recovery during rehabilitation. Our Vario MD crosstrainer is extremely useful during this phase as its variable stride and low joint impact mechanism allows the users to adapt their movements to their own specific abilities. The Recline MD Inclusive also allows for pedaling movements to be performed with a reduced and entirely safe range of movement.

When used in the upright position, the Top MD Inclusive helps maintain cardiovascular efficiency without engaging the lower part of the body.

Enhancing flexibility & endurance

Injuries and surgery cause joints to lose their mobility, and can lead to muscle tightness. Restoring these functions helps with recovery and prevents relapses. In this case, training with the FLEXability line can be extremely useful, as it allows the user to stretch their muscles in a safe and gradual manner.

Other consequences of injury and surgery include muscle weakness and loss of muscle mass. Strength exercises performed using the Selection Med range can help provide for more rapid toning and strengthening.

Functional training

In order to complete the post-rehabilitation therapy, it is recommended that patients perform functional exercises that will allow them to enhance motor abilities, as well as their proprioception, balance and stability. The Kinesis® One and ARKE™ collection can be extremely useful in such cases.
