News on  Formula 1 regulations for 2019

It will be fundamental for everyone to have interpreted at best, in these winter months, the regulatory innovations brought by the federation. In fact, there are many changes based on the simplification of the aerodynamic add-ons of the cars in the name of a greater possibility of overtaking. The wings will be wider and higher, but above all many of the superstructures that we were used to seeing in every position of the car will disappear.
The Formula 1 season is at the start

These differences, compared to the past, go to join the new compounds of the tires and the measures concerning the power units of the cars of Formula 1, creating that puzzle that, once solved, will reveal the true potential of these cars.

The eagerly awaited main stars of the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship, however, are obviously the 10 teams and 20 drivers called upon to fight in a round-the-world race that will touch four continents through 21 Grand Prix races. This is equal to the 2016 and 2018 records, with their debut in March in Australia and conclusion on 1 December at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.

Favorites for the final victory of the Formula 1 2019 World Championship

The favourite for the final victory of the Formula 1 world championship, needless to say, is also this year the Mercedes - winning in five editions with reigning champion Lewis Hamilton. His victory in the 2018 world championship has matched with the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio in the ranking of the most successful drivers ever with five titles. Now he aims at the absolute record held by Michael Schumacher, seven times world champion and the only one to precede the British phenomenon (91 to 73) as far as the number of Formula 1 Grand Prix won. At his side, confirmed is the Finnish Valtteri Bottas, fifth last year and a key element in the success of the team and companion.

As in the past Formula 1 season, the main rival of Mercedes should be the Ferrari of Sebastian Vettel, four Formula 1 world titles won consecutively between 2010 and 2014 with Red Bull and the youngest world champion ever, record subtracted precisely to Hamilton in 2010. Since he moved to Maranello, the German driver has not managed to impose himself, placing second in the last two seasons.

The most awaited protagonists of the 2019 Formula 1 World Championship, however, are obviously the 10 teams and 20 drivers called to fight in a world tour that will touch four continents through 21 Grands Prix

In the 2019 Formula 1 championship he will finally try to achieve success, and this, in part, will also depend on the agreement with his new partner, 21-year-old Charles Leclerc from Monaco: produced by the Ferrari Academy, after a very positive season at Sauber he will exchange the wheel with the Finnish veteran Kimi Räikkönen, who will take his place in what form this season is called Alfa Romeo Racing.
The season of the Formula 1 World Championship is at the start
Thirty-nine years old, last world champion with Ferrari in 2007, when he managed to impose himself on Hamilton for just one point, Räikkönen will hardly be able to fight with the best, but he will have the opportunity to overcome the number of Grand Prix disputed by two legends of the circus such as Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso, placing behind Rubens Barrichello, first in this special classification. The 25-year-old Antonio Giovinazzi, the first Italian driver to own a single-seater in Formula 1 since 2011, will be the mentor.

The Red Bull surprise of 2019

Red Bull is also expected to make the most of a new Honda power unit, driven by the promising son of art Max Verstappen, also called to confirm the improvements in 2019 in terms of solidity and constancy seen in the last part of 2018. Pierre Gasly will be "promoted" alongside him, after a good season at the wheel of the Toro Rosso that saw him go to points on five occasions; Gasly will take the place of Daniel Ricciardo who last year left everyone astonished declaring already in the middle of the Formula 1 championship his passage to Renault. To the Australian, real talent in terms of overtaking, the French company will join the German Nico Hülkenberg, confirmed after yet another excellent season.

The youngest driver
The youngest driver in the 2019 Formula One Championship will be 19-year-old British driver Lando Norris, who has won the Eurocup Formula Renault and European Formula 3 titles in the past three years and finished second in Formula 2 in 2018. Born on November 13, 1999, he will form with the Spaniard Carlos Sainz junior - son of art, his father was the famous rally champion Carlos Sainz - the couple of drivers of McLaren, who will try to fill the void left by Fernando Alonso and bring the team back to the ancient glories of the Formula 1 championships of the years 00 and 10.

The outsider teams: Toro Rosso, William, and Rich Energy Haas

All new will also be in 2019 the pair in force at Toro Rosso. The heir of the Minardi Formula 1 team will start again from the Russian Daniil Kvjat, already a test driver in Ferrari, and from the Anglo Thai Alexander Albon; the two will have the difficult task of making competitive a car that in 2018 was not able to confirm the progress glimpsed in the previous season: Toro Rosso ended up in the penultimate place in the Formula 1 constructors' standings, ahead only of Williams.
How much will the choices of the teams in the pits for the pit stops of the Formula 1 drivers weigh?

The historic English team, often protagonist in the fight for the Formula 1 world championship in the 80s and 90s, has also seen its performance deteriorate in the last championships and intends to change course relying on the young George Russell, 2018 champion in Formula 2, and the Polish expert Robert Kubica, who returns to the wheel of a single-seater in Formula 1 eight years after the terrible accident during a rally, which forced him to a long retirement and a hard rehabilitation.
The American team Rich Energy Haas deserves special attention. It debuted in the circus in the Formula 1 World Championship in 2016 and, after two seasons, showed great improvements last year, reaching a good fifth place in the manufacturer's ranking. To aim even higher, the team manager from Bolzano Gunther Steiner confirmed both drivers, the Swiss-French Romain Grosjean and the Danish Kevin Magnussen, author of the first fastest lap race in the history of Haas during the Singapore Grand Prix in 2018.
