Prof. Marco Narici, Ph.D, is a full Professor in Physiology of Ageing at the Manchester Metropolitan University. He received a BSc in Physiology at the Bedford College, University of London in1982; a MSc in Human and Applied Physiology at the King’s College, University of London in 1983 and a PhD in Physiology at the University of Pavia.
Among his numerous prestigious recognitions, he is an Elected Member of the Executive Board of the European College of Sport Science and invited Associate Scientist at the Institute of Bio-imaging and Molecular Physiology (IBFM) of the Italian Research Council.
His research interests are: Muscle and tendon plasticity in ageing, disuse and training with particular focus on the structural and functional repercussions. Plus, the use of ultrasound and MRI imaging techniques for the study of muscle structure and tendon mechanical properties in vivo. He’s also author of 102 ISI cited publications and 11 book chapters.
