The training programme for you to prepare the Nove Colli - Selle Italia
The Nove Colli - Selle Italia is a cycle-tourism Gran Fondo held since 1971, in which thousands of enthusiasts participate every year. From the sea to the hills, the race represents a mix of landscape beauty, sweat and hard work. The traditional route runs along nine slopes of the Appennino Romagnolo, for a total of 205 km.
Technogym's Scientific Department has structured a training programme dedicated to the Nove Colli - Selle Italia, which includes indoor and outdoor athletic training as part of the MYCYCLING APP.
The fascination and pitfalls of the track
The starting red grid is at Cesenatico's canal port; going along the first 28 km on level, we arrive at the first of the 9 hills of the race, that of Bertinoro: 8 km of ascent, with an average gradient of 3% and a maximum of 13%. After Linaro we reach the short but steep ascent of Ciola: 5.5% the average slope, 11% the maximum
From the steepest ascent to the most difference of altitude
The next ascent, that of Barbotto, is the steepest: in just 5.5 km you climb 372 meters, while the maximum slope reaches 18%. Entering the municipality of Sogliano, the route climbs up again at Monte Tiffi, Perticara and Monte Pugliano: here you will find the most important difference in altitude of Nove Colli - Selle Italia, 511m in 9km.
Gorolo, the last effort
After Secchiano you reach Passo delle Siepi, with a modest slope, and you face Gorolo, the last effort: a 4 km ascent with a wall that touches 17% of the slope.
The route ends on the Carducci seafront promenade in Cesenatico.
An alternative 130 km track is also available for slightly less demanding cyclists, with four hills to climb.
