To highlight Technogym’s® dedication to building a green product that will protect the environment through its entire lifecycle, we have designed a special go green logo so customers and members alike are aware of the eco friendly choice that was made when purchasing our equipment.

Here are some of the key ways we manufacture and deliver green products to the market:

1. Self-powered product and energy efficiency motors are available

The Excite™ cardiovascular line features totally self-powered products that generate the energy necessary to function when users are exercising on the machine (Excite™ SP). This also helps save electric power when the equipment is not in use.

2. Highly recyclable materials and lower usage of raw materials

Technogym® products are built with highly renewable plastic and metal materials – more than 95% in weight. The simple process of disassembly allows us to salvage secondary raw materials at the end of the equipments lifecycle.

However, Technogym® products have a very long average life; this is enhanced further by the second-hand market. In the end we are able to reduce raw material use and product disposal.

3. Solvent-free paints

The Excite™ line uses water-based instead of solvent based paint and avoids chrome plating. This significantly reduces dangerous, toxic or environmentally unsuitable substances.

4. Fully RoHS compliant products

All products sold globally contain electrical components in full conformity to RoHS directive. European Directive 2002/95/EC (RoHS) requires the substitution in new electrical equipment of various heavy metals (lead, mercury, cadmium, and hexavalent chromium), brominated flame retardants (polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), considered to be hazardous for the environment in the final disposal phase.

5. Slim & re-usable packaging

Our main suppliers deliver re-usable packing material in the form of foldable containers that can be used over and over to reduce the need for new packaging material. We also recycle wood pallets whenever possible.
