Technogym appointed as official supplier of the Youth Olympics

3500 young athletes from 170 countries will be training on Technogym

After Sydney 2000, Athens 2004, Turin 2006 and Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, Technogym was appointed as Official Supplier for the first edition of the Youth Olympic Games taking place in Singapore from August 14th to August 26th 2010.

Over 3,500 young athletes from 170 countries will be training with Technogym like the Beijing 2008 Olympic athletes.

Youth Olympics are a multidiscipline sport event inspired at the Olympic games and dedicated to young athlete from 14 to 18 competing in 26 sport disciplines. each county will be represented by at least 4 athletes divided in age groups.

Technogym has been chosen for the quality of its vast and complete range of products and services, as well as for the experience it has accumulated in the previous Olympic Games. After being for 4 times partner of the Olympic Games, Technogym is very proud to support the Youth Olympic movement, a fundamental player to educate young generations to the values of sport and promote regular physical exercise.

In Singapore Technogym will equip a 1000 mq fitness centre at the Olympic Village for the athletes preparation to the 26 different sport disciplines with 150 cardio, strength and movement equipment.

 The gym will be developed to offer a complete training solution for all sport disciplines:

• a cardio area fitted with top of the range Excite equipment
• a movement area with FLEXability and Kinesis
• a strength training area with Selection and the new Pure Strength specifically designed for the performance training of athletes
• a big space dedicated to free weight training.

The facility will include the Technogym state of the art technologies like FLEXability concept the new solution to make stretching easy and accurate after their long cardio sessions.

Another star at the gym will be Kinesis, the exclusive Technogym solution allowing athletes of different disciplines to simulate sport specific movements thanks to its free cable system.

In the cardio area, VARIO, the new concept to allow each athlete to train following his/her personal stride will make its debut at an international event.

Many international athletes and coaches already training with Technogym in their home countries will be very happy to have the opportunity to use Wellness System, the Technogym training management system allowing to save in a smart key the training schedule of each single athlete, to start up automatically Technogym equipment and to keep track of the training data for analysis and assessments.
