After accomplishing his degree at Bologna University Medical School in 1981, Dr. Massarini specialised in Sport Medicine at Pavia University in 1985. Between 1985 and 1992 he has been team doctor in professional sports such as cycling, skiing and sailing in two America’s Cup campaigns.
Technogym Medical Director
In 1992, he joined Technogym as Medical Director. In his role, he’s contributed to the development of innovative exercise and rehabilitation equipment, as well as an educational programme organising more than 150 seminars on topics such as: functional assessment, cardio training, strength training, sport specific training, senior training, weight control programmes, pregnancy and exercise.
He has published extensively on exercise physiology.In 2002 - 2003, he served as a member of Emilia-Romagna Medical Commission to promote health plans for enhancing physical activity of the population.
Vitalia Reference Centre
Dr. Massarini is an active sportsman himself and in 2004, he started Vitalia – an innovative Medical Center in Turin. The main focus of the centre is on health screening and exercise therapy applied to cardiovascular, metabolic and orthopedic pathologies. Vitalia is also a reference centre for amateur athletes competing in skiing, triathlon, running and cycling in the north west of Italy. Dr. Massarini has also developed an innovative health screening for corporate employees aiming to promote exercise and best nutrition principles.
