All Olympics athletes coming from 205 countries have been training on Technogym during the last four weeks in Beijing
After Sydney 2000, Athens 2004 and Turin 2006 Technogym was the Official Supplier for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games: the fourth consecutive Olympics for Technogym that established itself as a reference company in the sports world. Over 12,000 Olympic athletes from 250 countries, more than the UN countries, competing in 28 sports category, have been training with Technogym during the last four weeks in Beijing.
Technogym has been chosen ahead of other US and local Chinese competitors for “the quality of its vast and complete range of products and services, as well as for the experience it has accumulated in the previous Olympic Games” stated Mr. Liu Jun, Deputy Director of Marketing Department at BOCOG (Beijing 2008 Olympics Organizing Committee).
In Beijing Technogym equipped 20 training facilities including the main fitness centre at the Olympic Village, 17 centres inside the different competition venues and, for the first time at the Olympics, 2 training centres for the journalist at the Main Press Centre and Media Village.
Starting from the opening of the Olympic Village on July 27th the Technogym centre has always been very popular within athletes and coaches by representing a reference point for both training and socializing. This gym measuring 2.000 sqmt and equipped with 400 cardio, strength and movement equipment was developed to offer a complete training solution for all sport disciplines: a cardio area fitted with top of the range Excite equipment, a movement area with FLEXability and Kinesis, a strength training area with Selection and the new Pure Strength specifically designed for the performance training of athletes, and a big space dedicated to free weight training.

The new FLEXability concept, for the first time at the Olympics, had a huge success among the athletes helping them make their stretch...
Roberto Cammarelle, Italian boxer fighting to reach the final, is traning hard to win the gold medal: "Gold or nothing. I want to beat the Chinese in China", he said after the workout.
Roberto is really enjoying the facility: "It is outstanding as it was it Athens, but this time I found so many innovations, like FLEXability, Kinesis and Purestrength". Roberto is really happy about the international atmosphere of the Olympic Village but talking about food he reveals to be proud of Italy: "The food is very good at the Olympic Village and you can find a big variety of different cuisine. However, Italian food is the best".

Bernard Charles "Bernie" Ecclestone, the president and CEO of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration, visited our gym today.
He was really impressed by the facility: "I normally do not like gym", said during the visit, "but this facility is really chic". Ecclestone already knew Technogym: "We equipped our yacht with Technogym equipment, but this is the first time I see FLEXability. This is a real innovation and a good news… especially for my back. I need it", added Ecclestone's wife.

更多Tibor Benedek, considered by Time Magazine as the best waterpolo player in the world and one of the Top 50 athletes of the Beijing Olympics, was in the gym for a strength and stretching session together with the whole Hungarian Waterpolo Team (gold medal both in Athens and Sydney).
Tibor worked on flexibility and he really appreciated our FLEXability™ Line: "A very innovative solution that really makes stretching easier and more comfortable".

Tamas Kasas, defensive player of the Team and known for his outstanding ability to spring out of the water and block shots, appreciated very much Purestrength, our sport performance plate-loaded line: "I really love the biomechanics and the feeling with this equipment, but the whole facility here in the olympic village is amazing".
Taismary "Tai" Aguero, the 31 years old Cuban volleyball player, who play now with the Italian national team arrived yesterday night at the village and did her first work out session with the team mates today in the morning, 3 hours before the game against Kazakstan scheduled at noon. Tai tried to fly back to Cuba in the past few days to visit her dying mother and was blocked in Germany waiting for the visa from the Cuban government. Unfortunately, her mother passed away in the meantime. Tai was visibly sad but ready to support the team.

The competitions officially start today and the athletes keep on training hard in the gym of the Olympic Village.
Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jancovic, the two top Serbian tennis players, competing to take the leadership of the world women ranking were training at the same time in the gym and intentionally...ignoring each other!
Ana spent most of the time with her personal trainer doing stretching, free weight exercise and sets of repetitions on the Selection Line Chest Press while Jelena were doing more cardio training on Synchro and Run Excite.

The gym was also animated by the US men baseball team and the women softball and volleyball teams who did a work out session on Excite cardio machines and some functional training with Kinesis.

Oggi ha fatto la sua comparsa ufficiale Raffael Nadal, neo numero uno della classifica ATP mondiale. Il tennista spagnolo ha fatto una seduta di allenamento di circa un'ora utilizzando soprattuto pesi liberi, stretching da terra e l'innovativa macchina a cavi Kinesis prodotta dalla ditta romagnola che si è aggiudicata per la quarta volta consecutiva la fornitura ufficiale delle attrezzature fitness per i giochi olimpici. Nadal si è intrattenuto con i connazionali della squadra di pallacanestro maschile e ha scherzato e firmato autografi con i presenti e con lo staff della palestra.
La giornata nella palestra del villaggio olimpico era cominciata con un'intensa sessione di allenamento della nazionale italiana maschile di pallavolo. Il più attivo è stato il centrale Luigi Mastrangelo che non ha mancato di caricare il Multipower con ben 200 kg .
Fra le star della giornata anche la nazionale di pallavolo russa e soprattutto la nazionale di pallacanestro argentina, medaglia d'oro ad Atene 2004. Gli argentini erano capitanati da Emanuel "mano" Ginobili (ex-Virtus Bologna) e Luis Alberto Scola entrambi campioni della NBA americana. Ginobili ha dichiarato alla Wellness TV che sarà difficile ripetere l'impresa del 2004 viste le altre squadre sul terreno e, potendo, toglierebbe Kobe Bryant dal dream team Usa per rendere la competizione ancor piu' avvincente.

Now that the excitement of the World Cup and Turin 2006 has subsided and the curtain has fallen on the 15th Asian Games held recently in Doha, the sails are being hoisted for the America’s Cup, whilst in Beijing, feverish preparations are underway for the next Olympics.
Besides involving superior athletes from around the world, these events have another common denominator: all have chosen Technogym as the distiguished provider for training and preparing elite athletes. It is a solution which brings continuity between the recent past, the topical present and the eagerly anticipated future.
At 8:08 a.m. on 8/08/08 - by no means a random date because eight is considered a lucky number according to Chinese tradition - the world will watch the opening ceremony of the XXIX Olympic Games.
